Classes

We have offered classes on several different forms of fabric dyeing, jacket and purse classes, as well as Celtic applique and the "Stack and Whack" method. We also offer tips at our first Thursday small groups and during the regular meetings whenever a problem is presented. We also have a Tips and Tricks page that you may want to check out. Any currently planned classes are always listed on our Class page.

Block of the Month from 2007

Block of the Month

Every month Deb King used to present us with a different block to complete. She prepared packs of fabric and instructions and then did "walk-thru" of the steps needed to complete the block. Go to our Block of the Month page to see the ones that have been completed recently. In 2008 we used one of the quilts - shown at the left - for our raffle quilt. In 2009 one of the blocks each month was placed into a quilt that was then raffled off at the quilt show. Deb is currently taking some time off to catch up on all the work she has gotten back from previous Block of the Months. We are hoping that once she catches up, she will consider bringing this feature back.

Mystery

In 2007 and 2008 we did mystery quilts. How the mystery quilt worked (for us) is that over a four-month period you were given part of the instructions to make the quilt. The first month, you receive fabric amounts, some suggestions for how to pick out your fabric, some cutting instructions, and a very few sewing instrcutions. Over the next two months, you receive more sewing instructions. The last month you receive the final assembly instructions and get to see what the original quilt looked like when it was completed. Please go to our Mystery page to see quilt instructions for both of these quilts. But if you really want to try it as we did, don't peek at the last month until you are ready for it!
